Can anyone give me the part # for the positive ground Pertronix kit? Or
at least the # off the side of the Amphicar distributor.
Thanks all.
BTW, looks like I wont be making Mt Dora... :-(

Hi Craig,
The Pertronix model for a positive ground system is: LU 142 AP
(negative ground is: LU 142 A). If you have trouble finding one up
there, there is a stocking dealer, here in Santa Barbara, who is a
mail order operation. His number is: 805 967-5767. That's where I
got mine. The system works fine and was easy to install. I found the
little rubber cover that fits into the side of the distributor, where
the wires come out, needed to be trimmed a bit to get it to fit
correctly. It was a snap to do though.

Thanks, John
I just ordered one from a source on line. The part #'s I got from him were
LU 149 for neg ground and LU 149 12p for pos ground. Did I ordor the wrong
thing? Guess I'll call Pertronix and see what they say.

Craig,
Humm. I don't know what to make of that. When I ordered the unit I
gave him the number off the distributor for reference. Like I say, it
dropped in fine except for the minor trim needed on the rubber wire
grommet. I'll give my local guy a call and see if he can shed any
light on the issue.

RE: Re: Pertronix Part #

I just got off the phone with Pertronix. It appears that the only difference
between the kits is the gromet in the side of the distributer. I'm at work
and haven't been able to get thr part # off my distributer, I used on from
the list archives. Guess I'll have a 50/50 chance and worst case I'll have
to trim it to fit.

Craig,
If the grommet is the only difference, you should be fine. Yours
might drop in without the little trimming that I had to give mine.
Let me know how it works out. If the 149 is a better number, I'll
update my files too.
