Hello Everyone,
We are active members of the IAOC Facebook Group, but I wanted to make a post here on the forums to introduce ourselves as the newest Amphicar owners in the world! My name is Jared Guynes, my lovely partner is Jessica Sapp. This week we purchased Amphicar 100195 out of Long Beach California where it has been since 1988. Before that the papers seem to trace the car back to Michigan. The car was owned by a quiet man named "Dr Emery" and he was a good customer of Gordon Imports, where the car was only 20 miles from. The car came with a huge pile of itemized receipts, and was very obviously lovingly restored. The records seem to show a rotisserie restoration between 1998 and 2001, and during this time the car also got a 1500 motor upgrade, all new paint inside and out, nice coil-over suspension, a custom interior, a one piece bumper and a new top. Since then it was put in the water only 5 times, and kept in a garage. The cars sale came with all the records, the original engine and fuel system, loads of manuals and even the German and English brown repair booklets that look as if they were intended for a technician or dealership.

We are located in Royse City Texas (Rockwall County) and drove a total of 3000 miles to get the car from California and bring it home.
At the moment we are having the car deep detailed, paint corrected and ceramic coated. This is just some clean up from it being basically a garage display piece for the last 25 years or so.

The odometer shows 1300 miles, but I suppose there is no way to know for sure if this is accurate.
We plan to attend events this year, and already have our hotel for Celina in July 2025.
Happy to be new owners and IAOC members!
