Attention North Texas Amphicar Owners

Kathy and I have been thinking about having a one day Amphicar meeting
in Arlington in June. It would be on a Saturday (probably), and would be
just as much car show as swim-in. Here is what we have been thinking about:

Breakfast/meet/greet (also phase one car show)
Drive to Lake Arlington for several hours of swimming and giving rides.
Lake Arlington is not the biggest lake, but it does have three very nice
multi lane boat ramps that are conducive to high speed entries. Also all
ramps are public parks, so lots of people to give rides to.
Cook out at one of the pavilions on the lake.
Cruise the lake some more.
Ice cream at the local Brusters. Last part of the car show. The owners
of the Brusters have agreed to set aside a section of parking right on
Cooper street for us, so we would get lots of traffic looking at the Amphis.
Wrap it all up around 4-5p.m.

Would anybody be interested in this? Let me know, and if enough hands
are raised, we will work out the details.

If Arlington has water... I'd give it a shot. (Grapevine looks pretty
low from the air...) I know Deb and I are scheduled to give some
rides for her school in june, but I think that was during the week.

LBJ sounds like fun. Always wanted to get a group of amphi's to meet
up there. Hill country is nice.

Speaking of the hill country, are we doing Austin this year? I have a
wedding one of those april weekends after tax day... I forget which
one and even forget if the wedding is in Austin or Houston...I know
the family is from Austin... but anyway I can't keep up with details
and just go where "I'm towed"
