Any Amphicar owners in Oregon?

I just moved back to Oregon after 18 years in Alaska. My Amphi is not currently running but is just out of paint and once I get the garage back in order I'll start the reassembly. Looking for local owners and places to swim. I'm in Corvallis if anyone here is close by I'd look to have a look at your car.

Craig, did you know any Amphicar owners the last time you lived in Oregon?

My car came from Oregon, and I'd like to find out more about it. I bought it from the deceased owner's son in California. He didn't have too much to say about it, just that he moved it down to his house to sell after the dad died. He had another car he was selling as well; hindsight tells me I should have bought both of them. The man's name was Anderson, I believe.

No I bought mine in Fairbanks in 2001. I'm still trying to find history on mine but think it might have been the car that did the Yukon river with the White Stewart car that sold in Anchorage awhile back. I've also seen a photo of a red car in Fairbanks during the big flood in 67 with then Govoner Wally Hinkle on the street corner talking to the driver in the Amphi floating down 2nd street. Haven't confirmed it was mine but still trying to...

I throght I'd bring this post up again. Was just looking over the custom plate page on the club web site adn see a few from Oregon. But lookingver the current club roster in the members area I don't see anyone. I'd like to meet up with anyone local. I'm not looking to buy a car or talk you out of your parts just want to see other Amphicars running or not and maybe get together now and again. A Pacific North West Amphi swim in would be fun to.

An annual West Coast swim-in has been happening in Northern California on the shores of Clear Lake in the town of Lakeport. Held in conjunction with the West Coast Seaplane Pilots annual splash-in. A beautiful location in late summer during pear harvest time. The Amphicars participate in the county harvest festival and parade. Attendance has been pretty good with about nine Amphicars. Mark your calendar for the last weekend of September.

That's right I'd forgotten about that. I think there is one in Seattle early summer with some sort of sailing festival. I plan to take mine to the Oregon Car shows and wonder if there are others near by. If there's any interest I'd love to do an Oregon mid summer meet.

Hi Henry, mine is not for sale but I'd be happy to show it to you sometime. I'm in the process of swapping engines so it may be a few months before I can give you s ride.
