Starter Upgrade

I was looking for information on the high torque starters that you can pick up for our engine and found this:

1973 GT6 MKIII Big Red - trooper II starter conversion

I might end up having to machine an adaptor plate, but it looks like it might be an economical solution for replacing the starter. Has anyone done this on an amphi?

Give BritishStarters.com a call. Modern gear-reduction starter motor, drop in replacement. I have one in my car, Dave the Wave is now using these in his cars as well. More reliable, more powerful, lower current draw.

I am so glad Mike found these. I had used every brand of junk rebuilt oops repainted starter. The Spitfire fits. At 200 bucks not cheap but My back is much happier for them. Later Dave the Wave

BPNorthwest also sells the Heavy duty gear reduction starter folr Spitfire for $190. They have quick reliable service.

I have also gotten mine from BPNORTHWEST. Great guys ! I ran one on Blugill for 4 years, no problems. I also have used the starter to load it onto the trailer when the fuel pump quit. Pulled it right up! (second gear)
