More Rust

Spent the day in the garage stripping the car in prep for soda blasting.

I thought I had escaped the scourge of rust in the quarter panels by the doors. Turns out I was wrong.

Looks like I will be ordering a set of quarter panels in the near future, Mr. Derrer.

Excuse my ignorance, but would it be better to have the car blasted first and then weld in the patch, or weld in the patch and then have the car blasted? I'm not sure if it actually makes a difference.

If You blast now, all of Your rust issues will be easy to see. Plus cutting and welding is nicer to do with out all of that paint, under coatings, and lead. Plan on cutting off Your jack points. Or at least inspect with a hammer -looking for soft spots. You also could just blast area You plan on working on, doing the car in stages. Later Dave the Wave
