Hi All,

Did I read about some interest in having a swim-in in the Boston area? possibly
southern NH or maine.

I just got my most recent news letter and discovered there are several owners in
the New England Area.

Lets get started and have a good old fashioned new england clam and lobster bake
for the flatlanders in other parts of the country

Paul (and perhaps other Empire State Dwellers who may be recently come
aboard):

Not surprisingly given the cast of scintillating characters yonder, reports
from attendees of those often fairly impromptu Massachusetts Amphi
get-togethers are invariably gushing on this List (check the List Archives),
and a possible bonus of attending them is certainly that off chance of a
good long looksee at that mythical "Amphi-zine" stretch Amphicar limousine,
which is stowed away somewhere up there in the Bay State...a real oddity
among oddities (And yes Virginia, it really DOES exist. See
http://web.archive.org/web/19991129054659/http://www.optisci.com/amphicar.sh
tml to view the archived remains of the web site that once depicted it).

But if you're in upstate New York (former home of the Club's National
Swim-Ins in and around the Adirondacks at Northville on Lake Sacandaga, at
Lake George and in Fultonville on the Mighty Mohawk River...See
http://www.amphicar.com/previous.htm for a trip down Memory Lake) there's
still very likely to be the 3rd (or is it 4th?) Annual "Amphi-Stock"
gathering just down the Hudson at Saugerties on your dance card soon, hosted
by two of MY favorite beings in the Galaxy, Mark ("The Haggis Emperor")
Braunstein with his red Spitfire-engined Muscle-Amphi and his
gracious-and-artsy-beyond-mortal-understanding Paramour Kat McKenna with her
lagoon blue stock beauty...and of course that wolf-beast thing that dwells
with them named "Dewey Decimal System" or something that presumably pilots
their craft to the Lighthouse for the barbecue when they're otherwise
engaged. It's a bit early for an announcement on the Club's Events Calendar
of their shindig, but it's generally held in mid-August ot theeabouts. And
if you can see your way clear to making your way down the NY Thruway and
over to the the Garden State Parkway towards the Jersey coast to Mays
Landing, well there's always East Coast Amphicar's (www.amphicar.net/eca)
Billy Syx and Randy Tusone's astounding and not-to-be missed Labor Day
Weekend bash, which will be seeing its 14th or 15th year in 2004 with Live
music, Samuel Adams, Cheerfully Gothic Bonfire Abandon and more
properly-marinated grilled London Broil (see
http://www.amphicar.com/londonbroil.htm ) than you can likely handle...And
then there's the Mullica River decompression Sunday that follows...Just a
delightful way to ring out and thank Summertime for its gifts of buoyant
hijinx. If you CAN swing this party, then by all means do.

So anyhow, chin up Empire State folks. Winter's near tapped out, and you've
a proud heritage and full dance card of web-toed motoring yucks just on the
horizon, and, of course, if you or anyone else feels the need to host your
own jam, then just drop the Club a line and we won't tarry about getting it
up on the Events Calendar at http://www.amphicar.com/calendar.htm
