Added a clear fuel filter just tank side of the carb and saw no loss of fuel. A bit tougher to cause the problem as the temp was 20 degrees cooler today, but it did happen, just took longer. I was still using the electric fuel pump bypass.
Something new, standing there while she was HOT I noticed quite a bit of fuel under the carb, not just the occasional drip I sometime see from the shaft bushings. A bit later I pressurized the fuel system and saw nothing. Then started the car and saw nothing. But she wasn’t as hot.
I’ve pulled the carb and will dismantle or perhaps have rebuilt. As most of the Amphicar experts are at Celina this weekend, so I may have to wait until Mon to get a detailed list of known things to look for in the Zenith/Solex carb.
Hopefully we are closing in.
