Rob,
To get the sellers e-mail, go to Ebay home page and click on SEARCH. Then put
the item number in the box. The expired
auction will pop up and you simply click on the sellers name to e-mail him.

=====================

You should be able to contact the person by email through the auction page
at:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=2487690254

Just click the "Ask seller a question" link on the right.

Alternatively, according to the auction text it seems that the seller is in
Long Lake, New York, up in the Adirondacks. It just so happens that when
the family and I were up in Long Lake some years ago in a rental cabin we
met a guy there with a dark blue Amphicar who worked as a pilot with one of
the two airplane tour outfits that would whisk one up in an amphibious plane
for a tour of the lakes. At the moment the fellow's name escapes me (Paul
maybe?), but if you call Helms Aero Service at 518-624-3931, they might know
who it is, and he in turn may either be the seller or know who is.

As for Long Lake itself, it's a great spot to have a family Amphicar
vacation, especially if you're on a tight budget. If all you want to do is
get away for a week or two to a cabin on a lake with a beach (with a shallow
area even roped off for the kiddies) that you can also launch off of, then I
can heartily recommend Seaman's Cabins (see
http://www.adirondackacres.com/cabins.htm ). The cabins rent for as little
as $400/week, and while they don't have phones or TVs (What? You came to the
Adirondacks to watch 'Green Acres' reruns?), they are clean and comfortable
and cool and right on the lake. From the cabins it's just 15 minutes by
water to the shops in town (there's a ramp there), or you can carry on for
miles and miles the length of Long Lake and on up into Raquette Lake. Just
gorgeous...I only wish they could shove the whole venue about 500 miles to
the southwest, so we could have a nice place to chill out in between
Virginia and Celina...

I saw that Amphi a few months ago. I could have bought it for a lot less than
the ebay high bid. Apparently, the person who did buy it just flipped it right
to ebay and made a nice profit. Woulda, coulda, shoulda!
