I think a fibreglas band might fit in well with this type restoration--- heh heh

or even a Brass Band

Well, I'm the proud new owner of the Amphicar Bilge Watch that several of
you wanted on ebay. It arrived a few days ago, and I really think it can be
restored - it's body is solid. I'm thinking a complete back-off/battery-out
restoration....but I want it to be a user. No one wants an Amphicar Bilge
Watch that just sits on your dresser....I want to be able to set the alarm
and check the time without worrying about having a "perfect" restoration or
a "dresser queen". I'll keep photos of the progress to share in the future.
I might be needing some parts, mainly a watchband as the original is long
gone. I'm thinking of keeping it close to original, but might entertain
other bands if functional. Let me know if you know of any available.

thanks,
Marc Schlemmer.

I know that some go with fiberglass, but the orginal was metal...and I
think that it might be best to stick with metal. Even with the modern
day epoxy and glues, a watch of this generation might do better with
metal.

Marc.
