Looking for Carburetor rebuild kit

:032:I am looking for a carburetor rebuild kit for what I believe to be my Amphicar carburetor. Amphicar came with no carb installed but a box of 5 carbs of various manufactures. The one I believe to be correct is a Solex 30PSEI with a stamping of LC81 (very faint and not sure of this number) on the side. Dissassembled the carburetor and it looks to be in pretty good shape, just needing a rebuild.
So where can I find a rebuild kit for this thing???
Thanks,

Sorry that I've got no rebuild kit for you, but I'm pretty sure that
Hugh Gordon must still offer one. The real reason that I'm piping in
here is to tell you that the 'Members Only' area of the club website
should still have a copy of the entire Solex manual in PDF format titled
"Solex: Selection and Tuning of the Carburetor." And in case you're not
yet a member (Ummm...Why not? You some kind of
maverick-gotta-do-it-the-hard-way type?), a google search of the full
title should coax up another copy of it out there somewhere.

Regards,
Bilgey

Just found the carburetor rebuild kit in the Gordon Imports catalog. Just hope that they have some in stock. Thanks for the info in the Solex Tuning Guide in the members only section. And yes Bilgey, I am a member.
Thanks,
Ted

Assuming the carb's all there, maybe it's pretty much OK or at least
serviceable, and for at least the time being you could get away with a
trick my Dad told me they used to work when he was a mechanic in the
Army in the '50s in France, often reviving old WWII Jeeps,
Deuce-and-a-halfs and even DUKWs that had been mothballed since VE Day:
When the carbs were clogged up with lead and other deposits, they used
to pull them off, shake out the acorns and just toss them into a small
barrel filled with Marvel Mystery Oil to "marinate." After a good long
soak they would haul them out, slap them on and presto!

I did that with my old Norton's super-simple Amal Concentric carb that
looked like the inside of one of the Luray Caverns when I got it as a
"basket case," and it spritzed along just fine after I got the rest of
the plot screwed back together (with an oil supply-return system poached
from a Lady Kenmore washing machine and other make-do scavengings of the
"Max Max" sort).

Bilgey

Gord, do you still have any of these kits? I'm looking for one.
