Black soot, a bit of exhaust snell..
..and noise
Even tho i cut “slits” in the entry-collar, the stainless U-clamp does not seal as well as it apparently needs to.
Gerry Obara added a flex-union and triangle-junction plate to where they meet to allow flexing and apparently doesnt leax exhaust.
Any other ideas in what i can do? if i dont want to bring it to have that done?
(That area definitely has flexing: i dont imagine tthere is hi-temp, removable wrap/ tape that stays flexible that would seal it...would probably always come unwraveled...)
(The black residue you see is from the burned adhesive from the silver aluminum hvac tape i tried--but some exhaust gases jetted out even from under that, so i removed it, leaving charred stickum residue)
