Greetings all!
Last summer My transmission suddenly dumped all the gear oil. Somewhere I had a major leak. About the same time, my brakes started to hang up like they do with old rubber brake lines. It turned out to be the master cylinder so I rebuilt it and all was good. But with the tranny issue, testing the new master on the road didn't happen until Last week when I discovered that the tranny leak was from the drain plug on the bottom. It had come loose and dropped to the floor. A small mirror and a flashlight helped find that problem.
So now with the leak fixed, I took her to a local lake for a swim. On the way there, I could feel the pedal firming up as I braked. I got to the lake and all rims were hot from the brakes sticking. I know the problem isn't with the rubber brake lines as they have been replaced. I suspect it's the master that is the cause. I didn't flush the lines when I rebuilt the master and wonder if a dirt particle could be holding the plunger in thus applying the brakes.
Any thoughts on a cure would be much appreciated.
Hope all is well!
