Rear Seat Question

Hi All

On a Amphicar with the regular rear seat, is there supposed to be wood under
the seat bottom, or just the middle steel brace?

Hello Dan,
On top of the central steel brace there should be a sound deadening
panel, then a layer of 1/4 inch tempered hardboard, which attaches
along the back edge and along the bottom, and finally the seat. The
sound deadening panel is flimsy and often shot. It is often replaced
with some other form of deadening material attached to some arranement
of hardboard sections that replace the original deadening layer.
