plug for Splash King

Hey all,

I just wanted to give a "plug" for Splash King as Amphibian of the
Year.
1. Before Billy no one entered the water at any faster than a crawl.
2. Before Billy no one gave rides and rides and rides to general
members of the public.
3. NO ONE has gotten more air time (TV) than Billy (of course, no one
else get's stuck in the Delaware River either!)
4. Although Billy doesn't take part in this list, it's because he's
too busy fixing people's amphicars. He's only a phone call away.
5. Billy gives assistance wherever he can.
6. All his restorations are top shelf for the money the person has to
pay.
7. He's honest. If it wasn't important for JYW's to have Dave's team
win, Billy may have stood a chance. Dave didn't even build what he
was supposed to. Billy's design was created with the thought that he
would be competing against a hover-craft. Dave did not build a hover-
craft. (no offense meant Dave, just honesty).

These are my reasons why I think Billy deserves the Amphibian of the
year award!

Politics are more dangerous waters than the Delaware River. But I already voted
(with the quaint concept of ONCE), so I suppose I'm allowed to voice a couple of
comments for Truth & Justice & and the other stuff Superman liked.

1. There's a lot of undocumented years since Amphi's first got wet. (And I got a
sneaky suspicion that there's some mode of entry, speed and loading and angle,
where a following wave will overtake and completely swamp an Amphi. Sure, I'm
just being paranoid, but keep those cameras rolling and keep your PFS's on all
the time.)

2. Really? Who did discover that an Amphi seats 4 (and more, although somewhat
illegally)?

3. It was publicity, but.... I had 6 different people (relatives & business
friends) who asked me about that incident. Way out here in California! And in
all the conversations, the concept of "nut case" was lurking just below the
surface. Even experienced boaters grin when they see a guy run a 36' cruiser up
on the beach, or a sailboat stuck high & dry at mid-tide, or yeah, a guy who
runs his powerboat over a dam, at night, in strange waters. While I greatly
sympathize with what happened, there's a difference between laughing "with" and
"at". Well, at least Randy can honestly claim to be the best Amphi white-water
rafter!

4. I kinda like people better who DO participate in this list. I mean, we're ALL
busy. But problems privately solved are unknown to most Amphi people. We all
have very similar cars, and we stick them in similar environments, so, sooner or
later, any problem of yours will likely be shared by many other Amphi owners.
(Uhh, maybe not that dam problem.) So share them now, and get the solutions
documented in our files.

7. Uhhh, for those who might not know Billy & Randy, a bit of full disclosure
please? <g>
