<font FACE="arial, helvetica"><font SIZE="2">I spoke with the owner of that 64 and he wants $28K firm. The shop that it is
at thought it needed @ $5000 to make it perfect. Some rust under the hood,
around rear tail light, etc. Nothing major but would/could justify a repaint.
They thought it should be kept in a museum, not used as too original. Has a
dent in drivers door too by the way. I passed on it and bought another car. I
thought the car was worth around $24, 000 the way it sat. Owner stated $10k
in work was just done at that shop, but shop could not verify it. Just got a
funny feeling........

I believe you are referring to the one from Sahli
Enterprises in Newport Beach?? I don't know much about
the car, but I personally saw it at the Unique Little
Cars Show in Long Beach, CA on 5/5/01. It looked very
beautiful. They also advertised it in Hemmings and at
Traderonline.com. They also had one that was similar
in color but restored as well as a BMW Isetta at the
show.

Obviously professional car people. That's about all I
know.

Does anyone have any information about the 64 Amphi currently for
sale on Ebay? It's a turquoise 64 from California. I'm in the market
and am looking for leads. (Yes, after a year on the list I've read
the buying caveats + FAQ many times on the website.)

Any leads on other amphis for sale would be appreciated. I'll be in
Celina, but you can also find me at: jr2@nyu.edu

Thanks for your help,

Tried to strike a deal with him for $25K, but he would not budge off
the $28,500 he started the auction at last time he tried to sell it
on eBay. Interesting, because if I had bought it at auction, he
would have had to pay several hundred dollars in auction fees! A
very nice car, though. Email the seller, and he will give you the
number of his mechanic to call, a very good one, and the one who does
the tranny rebuilds for Gordon Imports, if I'm not mistaken!
