Looking for a front turn signal bulb socket

[Moses Scott R Contr 22 MXG/MXOOC]

Every year I cleaned and repainted the front turn signal bulb sockets.
But each year they seem to always leak, and the metal would rust again.
Well this year, the sockets just fell apart.

If anyone has at least one they could sell me, I could get this
temporary MacGyverism off my car.

Scott - One cure for this is to drill a 1/8" hole at the 6:00
position in the lens. The water will get in, so make a exit for it
to get out. It allows air inside to help dry them out too.

This is an old thread.....but a problem that I have always had.
However, I have just installed (but not yet tested) new sockets machined from a block of stainless steel. I purchased them off eBay, and there are more available.
A VERY nice product! A quality job.
Should eliminate the problem.

I went the other route, sealing the lens to the gasket, attaching and sealing the lens/gasket assembly to the body using a USS FW with mount bolts in tapped holes to go through he hull. I then install the bulb from the inside of the trunk using a standard socket bracket I found locally. The biggest issue was getting a bulb with glass sized to fit through the .960 hole in the hull. I opted to switch to a yellow LED bulb assembly. No leaks coming up on 4 years and easy to get to the bulb, when necessary. It also involves changing the flasher relay to one that is LED compatible due to the low resistance of the LEDs. --Larry
