Here at Celina, Ohio

Hello to all of my fellow Amhi friends. Bob, Ramon & myself (Ina)
arrived here at Grand Lake St. Mary yesterday, Sun. You can't IMAGINE
how empty it is at the camp ground. The lake is right in front of us
& what a tease! It is so green you could paint your house with the
water. It is definitely worse than last year. We are so sad to see
all of the boats closed up & many marinas closed. The word is that
the Lake Festival will be held but moved to other locations in town.
This is hurting the community so much but what can you do? The state
is trying to get 'mucho' money ($5-10 million) from the Federal Govt.
to help clean up the problem. I sure hope they can get the funding.
The lake really needs to be dredged as well as chemically treated.

I have already spoken to Mike Bayman & anyone who is here Wed. around
lunchtime please come to the Eagle so we can all meet. I think it's a
great idea that we are going to Indian Lake & can't wait for all of
you to get here. Drive safely & know that we will still have a great
gathering moving on to plan B.

No, it's empty. I'm not going in when the powers to be said it wasn't
a good idea to go in. Also, it's scary to see it so empty. Where are

Welcome back to Ohio!
Come over to Indian Lake - I'm still at work till Wednesday evening but Indian
Lake will welcome you and love to see your car and smiling faces on Tuesday!*

My cell phone is 937 672-2793 and you can relax*at the house.*** Lake should be
smooth and quiet and very enjoyable!** Even if it is raining the drive would be
nice!

directions to the ramps.* (40 miles from Celina).***


Larry gets home from New York on Tuesday evening in Dayton and will be coming to
Celina on Wednesday!

Great talking to you today Pat. You were worried about bringing this
algae problem to Indian Lake if we go swimming in Grand Lake St. Mary
& then come over to Indian Lake. I spoke to the ranger at the Dept.
of Natural Resources & he assured me that we have nothing to fear if
we go swimming at Celina & then go over to Indian Lake. There won't
be a problem about bringing this algae to the other lake. It's
already at other lakes & is not a problem at the other lakes due to
the water flow. Here is the info he gave me:

Grand Lake St. Mary is very large lake with not much water flowing
into or out of it. Due to all of the chemical run off & the fact that
the lake is only 8-9' deep it has caused this big problem. The ranger
said that we are safe to put our Amphicars into the lake here at
Celina but don't have the water touch our bodies.

I'm looking forward to our swimming at Indian Lake as well as possibly
still going into the lake here at Celina. A new report about the
lake's condition is expected tomorrow, Wed.

Earl & Nancy from Arkansas are here at the fairgrounds with their red
Amphicar. They said that Brad has come to visit. So there are 3
Amphicars as the count down starts. Ina

Dave, I am sure we could find some room for you. I have some Delorean friends,
Grandma, and Billy Syx at this point. Just bring a sleeping bag just in case we
run out*of beds.**Did I tell you about the bar with the pool bar? bring a swim
suite.* Despite the obstacles, I think we will have a fun time, come on down!
