Geez, this fuel injection does sound sweet. I'd love to dig a deep
hole and send my carb to Solex hell. One thing I do not understand is
the fuel pump in the tank. Why does the fuel pump have to be in the
tank? All these new cars have the damn pump in the tank. Won't an
inline electric pump work? Or is there not enough pressure?
On another subject:
From even before I put my rig in the water I knew that I'd be crabbing
the wheels to go straight. There seems to be a lot of engineering
types in this group. One would think that there would be a
commercially available 1:1 reversing gear box of the proper size that
could be spliced into one of the propeller drive shafts. And someone
is making new props. How difficult would it be to make an opposite
screw?
Seems to me that counter rotating screws would yield an extra knot and
make the turning radius equal both directions.
Probably cost more than it's worth.
I'm just trying to figure out how to make this car a little faster in
water. I understand that you can only push a turd so fast. I'm
certain that someone has gone boating without a front bumper before.
I'd like to try it to see what happens. If it works I may try to
figure a way to attach the bumper with pip pins for easy removal.
Again, any speed gain would probably be minimal to the point of
ignoring it.
