<font size="4">This is very interesting to read. My Amphicar is titled 1967 & the battery just sits on a piece of metal. It has no groves or anything to keep it in place. We will try to invent a strap for it or something. If Bill Connely didn't notice it & tell me I wouldn't have thought twice about it. I'm glad to read someone else's experience with their battery area. </font>

Joe,
If you have a 68 Euro Amphi, chances are it never had the metal
battery box. At least some of the late cars didn't get the metal box
style and they were delivered with plastic boat type boxes. I know my
late 67 never had one but my earlier 67 has the metal box. The two
cars were also built in different plants and that may have something
to do with it too. I've heard that reading of battery box history for
years now.
