Battery literature?

Howdy all,

I found this label in the door pocket of my '67 Amphicar. Given the car was a one family, low milage car....maybe it was supplied with the original battery? (Varta was owed by Quandt backin the day)

Or am I deluding myself?

Cheers,
Rhys

True, VARTA belonged to the Quandt group.
Hundreds forced laborers at VARTA and DWM died during World War II. The economic rise of the Quandt group is based on defence business and unscrupulous exploitation of forced laborers. Without that, there would have been no Amphicar, this should always be aware.

Oh, it gets more complicated than that. Five years ago, a German television documentary aired. "The Silence of the Quandt Family" opening what the Quandts had never liked to discuss. They were arms manufacturers and had supported the Nazi party. How free was that support? It's not clear, but they did benefit. The SS groups running the slave labor camps profited from those enterprises, and "offered" Varta their services. Could they refuse? GM's Opel was less cooperative and was nationalized. Further complication: young Harald became a step-son of Joseph Goebbels...

I just Wikipedia-ed the word "guilt"......seems I don't feel guilty at all.

So can anyone corroborate that the Varta card was supplied with Amphicars?

Regards,
Rhys

It sounds reasonable that the card was supplied with the original Amphi...
Hopefully someone with more knowledge will be able to shed some light.

Hi Rhys,
at the bottom left of the sheet is the printing mark, seems it was printed September 1964. But i am not sure, the scan cut it off.
