US Flag for the mast, and patching a hole in the front

Two questions today: First, I want a US Flag for the mast, the kind
that "wraps around" the mast pole. I've seen them on other
Amphicar's. Where can I find one, or, where can I find one like
Amphicar Club owners use?

Secondly, the original owner of my car INTENTIONALLY drilled two
holes about 3/8" in diameter to mount the license plate on the hull.
The holes are about midway between the left headlight and the center
of the vehicle. I am not planning to place a plate against the paint
and want to somehow patch these holes.

My paint is very nice and I'd rather not take it to a body shop. Any
suggestions? Thanks.

Get a flag with 2 brass grommets and then go to your local boat shop
and get (2) 1" rigging clamps. They clamp around the pole and the
screws can go through the grommets for mounting. The "Amphicar" flags
were 2004 Members gift items.

You can get 2 rubber plugs to fill the holes.
If you decide to put a plate on it. Put a rubber washer between the
screw head and plate, then between the plate and body and another
between body (inside) and a flat washer. (Head / washer / plate /
washer / body / washer / flat washer / nut). Then add to self stick
rubber bumpers to the bottom corners of the plate. This will hold it
away from the paint like to washer on the top.
