Amphicar Flag

Hello Amphi Fans,
Some time ago, someone made up some Amphicar flags for Amphi flag
poles. They had the Amphicar emblem on a solid colored background. I
think the emblem was embroidered and sewn or somhow attached to the
flag. The one I saw looked nice. Are any of those still available.
If not, I've been thinking of getting some made up. If someone else
is interested, I suspect a group purchase would be a bit cheaper than
a single order. Anyhow, if anyone has any information about the old
flags or is interested in getting a new batch of them made, please let
me know.

I thought that Elizabeth (Marc Schlemmer's wife) made those. You
might ask him.

HI Marc,

Could you send me a picture of the Flag/pennant and I'll try to coerce
someone into making a few.

Thanks,

Yes, John...Eric is right. My wife Elizabeth made those flags. She did a
great job on them, but they take quite a bit of time for her to make, so she
doesn't really want to make any more. I did, however, talk her into making
one to donate to the Club raffle in Celina last year.....but I doubt I'll
even get her to do that this year! She really enjoys making things like
that, but after she's made several, it isn't as much fun for her anymore -
it becomes more like work!
Several have asked over the last year or so....and if she ever changes her
mind, I'll let you know.

Marc Schlemmer.

Hi Marc,
Was the logo on the flags emboidery or some sort of photographic
reproduction, and how was it attached to the flag? It's been a while
since I've seen one of those flags.

Thanks,
John Friese

I uploaded a photo of one of Elizabeth's flags in the "Photos" section.
It's not a great photo, but it was all I had quick.
Another shot of the flag on the car is at:
http://home.insightbb.com/~mschlemphotos1/bv5.jpg
She made them in any color....mostly colors to match the car.

By all means, anyone who wants to have that design reproduced, Elizabeth
doesn't care. Besides, it's not anything she really "designed" anyway.
It's just the Amphicar hood ornament on a flag....no real design. If
someone had a computerized machine to do the flag, it might be rather easy
using a scanned in image. Didn't someone post some high quality scans of
the emblem? That would help someone who was going to make a flag.
So in any case....go for it!

Good luck!
Marc Schlemmer.
