Its really to bad that the CG scuttled both the original '53 Chevy plus the second car (47 Merc) by the same guy (below). Gee to make it within 10 miles of shore and get caught. 80 miles across the open ocean in either one of these should have been a "gimme" but laws are laws I guess.
