State Farm Insurance

I was just told by my local agent that State Farm can't insure an
Amphicar. I know there are some members on here who use them. Can any
of you send me contact info for your agent I could pass on to mine.
I'm hoping it might help convince their underwriter to cover me.

I'm in Alaska. Haggerty was my first choice but they don't serve
Alaska yet. :( I got a call back from my agent after I told her that
members of my club used State Farm in the lower 48. Now they say they
can write it and all I need is an apprasal to insure it for it's
current value. It will also be covered on land and in the water.

Hi,

My State Farm agent here in Santa Barbara, CA is David Fox. He owns
the agency, and has for many years, and he has the coverage for my two
Amphicars. I've been in his office when he's talked to the
underwriter about the cars. It's been no problem for me out here
getting full coverage but perhaps they have some sort of regional
differences.

Re: Re: State Farm Insurance

I have had a State Farm policy for years and just received a new policy with an increased valuation. They asked for an appraisal and I countered with detailed pictures and a copy of the "Amphicars For Sale" page from our newsletter. They bought it.

Larry:

have all my cars with State Farm; they didn't want anything for the revaluation. I valued the car at $30,000 but haven't gotten a whole bill yet. They wanted another $95 for 4 months of upgrade on top of what I was paying. I think the bill crossed in the mail when we had our mail forwarded to the Lake for the summer; I should see it when I get up there next week.
