Speedometers are not that tough. From my past experience working at an old AMC dealership we had to replace seedos under warranty instead of sending them out for repair. This required us to reset the new one with the customer's mileage. I do not want to tell everyone on the Internet how to tamper with mileage, but you have to remove the odometer from the unit to reset it.
