Spam Filters

How to deal with spam varies widely depending on your email reader. I read my mail online via Yahoo and download to my MAC.

Some basics though:

Put the email address of the list into your address book, including the online one if you check there

The list email is at the bottom of every message. For some reason every time I put it into the text of the message it is not visible.

When you located email in your bulk mail folder or junk mail forward check and see if there is an option to mark it as "Not Spam".

Yahoo has a button that you press. My MAC email has the same. If you are using some other mail system go to the help menu. There should be instructions in there.

I know I have to do something with the spam filters but I don't know what to do. Can you give me an idea? Thanks. Ina (in the boro)

I know I'm getting the messages just fine. You should be aware that I di need to check my spam filters on a regular basis. I think I've got that fixed.

But working fine here is chilly Chicago.

Is everyone else getting posts from this new site directly to email? Will not work for me even with the settings as indicated by Mike so maybe I misunderstood. I thought it would work like Yahoo where we would never have to log into the site and havet to try to sort through each thread to see what is new. I don't think I will have time this way. There may be others out there who are waiting for messages and don't know they are not coming.

Eric,

I'm an Mac user too. I use Safari and Firefox.

I also use Yahoo for my email. All e-mails from amphicar770.com have gone to
my bulk mail folder.

My experience with Yahoo filters: Once you select an e-mail in your inbox as
spam, that email will always go to the bulk mail folder. But, if you
inadvertently send a good e-mail to spam, there is no easy way to get future
e-mails from that address to go to the inbox. It will always end up in the
bulk folder. However, I have found that constantly moving those good e-mails
from the bulk folder to the inbox before reading seems to eventually get some
to start coming back to the inbox on their own. Dunno why some do and some
don't.

For Yahoo Mail that you have accidentally classified as Spam try this:

Within you email look to the top right side.
You should see a "Mail Upgrades" and "Options"
Select Options
in the list that follows you will see at the bottom left a selection called "Blocked Addresses"
Select that
You will see a long list in Alpha order of any email adress YOU have designated as spam
Locate the one for this list and remove it (There's a button for that at the bottom)

That only works for those YOU have declared spam

For things YAHOO has declared as spam you need to locate the email in your bulk mail folder
Open the item (Read)
At the Top you'll see a NOT SPAM button
Press that and it will move out of Bulk Mail into your inbox
You'll need to do it several times - after a week it stopped for me.

Within the standard MAC email program its just a matter of hitting the "not junk" button

Hope that helps. While you're in the options section you'll not there are a great many things you can do there to assist with your email.

Thanks for all of this info as to how to get the new e-mail to just flow naturally into the 'inbox' of one's e-mail. I never marked Amphicar Lover's list as spam. I have REPEATEDLY (so many times you can't imagine) gone into my bulk folder & moved the mail I wanted into my inbox. That was suppose to get any other mail from that address to go directly into the inbox, not the bulk folder. It never works.

I just tried one of the suggestions: Put the Amphicarlovers address into my address book on e-mail. I'm waiting now to see if that has helped. I have to say, though, for years Dave the Wave's e-mail address has been in my address book & his e-mail seems to always wind up in my bulk folder too. Who knows? It's just some fluke, I guess.
