Metal Meet

There is a club devoted to creating with metal. Metal Meet 2004 is in a
couple of weeks in southern Illinois. Up to 250 like minded metal
maniacs will converge. Craftsman from all over the World attend and
share what they know. 16 hour days for one week. I got permission to
bring a project. Hmmm wonder what it may be? Later Dave the Wave

What a week. I was able to learn from true metal craftsmen. Awe
inspiring. I started with one part that has haunted me. In moments the
guy teaching me showed were My error was. The first panel in beginning
of week took hours. I had "ham hands" on the English wheel. After much
work I ended up with a useable but not what I wanted panel. At end of
week I made the panel in 45 minutes and was exactly what I wanted. It
was a great feeling. During the week I also made a steel bowl and a
metal rose. It was great seeing true craftsman taking days and days on
one single panel. It helps gauge how long something should/can take.
