Hi there what about some races? Like the quickest mile in the water. Even the quickest 1/4 mile on land too. I think I have what is amoung the FASTEST stock Amphicars both on land and in the water. Lets find out. We could "race" against the clock. Maybe a nonstock class too.

Sounds like a throw down (Bring Your pinks) Drag racing in the water.Think we will need the radar gun from the police?
I took this picture of the lake about three weeks ago. I was standing at the Eagles ramp looking towards the Hot Hole.

We will be there Wednesday at about 4PM I hope. Couldn't miss the big meet. If were gonna race I better plug at least some of the leaks. Don't need to be hauling all that extra water weight like most times. How 'bout we race to that restaurant across the lake and looser buys the liquid. Just so you guys know this is what you can expect your view to be. :dft003:

I like the idea of the race to the restaurant across the lake and still wonder how in the hell you caught up to Val and I last year when we were probably a three quarters of a mile ahead of you guys?

Ron,
I think some of the Amphi's were running Nitrous Oxide. That would explain such speed or maybe you were lost at sea.
Strange things happen in the open waters (Burmuda Triangle)????:032:

Some things you just cannot explain. It ( Corky) is just a quick little boat.
Corky will run 72 mph on the hard road. My brother followed me home from the car show in a car with a digital dash and he said we ran 72 the whole way. I gotta admit it was a wild ride that I don't want to repeat anytime soon.

Bummer. Looks like I will be missing Celina this year. I will be out in AZ which is not all bad.

For now I am just hoping to be able to drive my Amphi come spring. As some folks know, I broke my elbow in November. Wound up with three screws in there and still do not have functional range of motion after 40 sessions of physical therapy. I was picking up an enclosed trailer when I had the mishap. My wife now refers to it as the $10,000 trailer in the backyard (she adds in the cost of the PT sessions)!

Tommy has owned enough Amphisi that if he says Corky is fast, I woould believe him. My own Amphi tends to start acting like a porpoise at higher speed in that she wants to start nose diving.

Mike, Sorry to hear about your injury, and that you will not be at Celina, we will miss you.

Corky must be a "light" Amphicar (hence the name??) I heard Corky was once paddled across a lake late one night in Florida using just a licence plate and lighting the way was nothing more that the occasional flash from a camera. :005: :dft012: :dft012: :dft003:
