Any Isetta Experts in the Group?

Could anybody that is knowledgeable on BMW Isettas please contact me by email. I'm looking for one to restore and need advice from someone that know's the in's and outs of the vehicle.

http://www.bubbledrome.org/ Charles Gould- plus he is a genuinely nice guy. He probably has one or knows of one for sale. Vondracek probably still has his Z trim car for sale. Post some done pics of your Amphi. I bet it can be "Friese" approved for perfection.

Werner Swark (www.isettasrus.com) would probably be your best start. I think he owns an amphicar as well and he'll gladly share his vast knowledge as well as the parts availability. The german imports were most common in the US and parts availability as well as english language literature for those is very good in the states from multiple suppliers. The German built 300 sliding window is the 57 chevy of the Microcar world but any other model may be more of a challenge as parts become very rare.
I am currently rebuilding a British built one for the Canadian market and wish I would have known this. You can find the story on www.garminthedog.com in the Isetta section. Fighting with it will continue this winter

Hi Larry, yes I still have my Bubble window Z-moulding Isetta. See photo. Just to clarify, though, I am in Orange County, CA, not Riverside. Hope all is well!

I found a 1958 Isetta locally in Dallas, so now I have the car. Looks like there are ample parts available both new and used. Thanks for your help finding out this information.

Hmm, funny how Amphicar owners have an affinity for "odd ball" cars. OK, time to go wash my 914 and my Peugeot!
