We were there for the live GMA shoot on Thursday, but unfortunately, I blew
one of those weather checked tyres on my way back to the O'Baras on Saturday,
and we had to hitch a ride home to get the trailer for the retrieval, so we
never made it down to the swim in.
Sorry to have missed it. Now I am looking for tyres.

Thanks for the compliment. I just saw it yesterday and it turned out ok. It was interesting teaching Sam how to drive an Amphicar in between waiting to go live to millions of viewers. He was somewhat nervous when he was being circled by everyone, especially the ones that had the water cannons. We are still on the road and hope to be back this weekend.

Thank you to all who attended The 2nd Annual Boston Swim In in Taunton, MA. We had a great turnout with a total of 19 cars!! Wed Aug 20th we were invited to the Chateau of Norton Restaurant. We swam Lake Winnicunet with many spectators. The Chateau hosted all participants with the amphicars with free fine dining. Thurs Aug 21st we aired live on Good Morning America with producer Darcy Bonifils & weatherman Sam Champion. Friday Aug 22nd we headed to Cape Cod & on the way had breakfast at a converted trolley dating back to 1926. We filled the place & what an awesome picture we took. All Amphicars lined in front. We headed to Wakeby Pond, Sandwich, MA & swam to the other side to beach the cars. On the way home we had to try to teach Ina how to accelerate to 45mph & surprising enough she didnt get the line of cars lost even when the big tractor trailer got between us. Saturday Aug 23rd Bacon & Eggs on the cast griddle. Official splash in at noon on Lake Sabbatia. Pig Roast at 5pm along with hamburgers & hot dogs for Ron. Sunday Aug 24th we went to an undisclosed lake. As we were swimming 2 seaplanes were flying above. We ended up landing on the sandbar of a private island with the 2 planes beside us. What an awesome time. Well Mon, Tues, & Wed we ended back to that lake & met many new people. This 3 day event turned out to be a 7 day event for some, but we couldnt have asked for better company. We want to thank all who attended & we hope we all see you next year! Gerry keeps saying how are we gonna top this one. And if I know him WE WILL!!!!!
Thanks To All & See You Next Year

Gerry, Thanks for the bumper
brackets. Also the wife and I enjoyed the video and he
fireworks. Aren't these cars great for kids (little ones). Hope
to meet you and John in person one day. I must visit Rehoboth and
Attleboro to poke around a few graveyards. Also a guy I gave a
ride to latst month at
Bass Lake took a short video and put it on U TUBE. Go to U TUBE
and google "amphicar entry" and you will see and hear me. He did
an "amphicar exit "too but I can't find it on EBAY. Bye for now -
Allan
