spark plugs

I put the platinum plugs in and it seems to run fine, I'm not sure
what numbers they are but I can check tonight and let you know.

They are Champion L87YC but be very careful !

Ask for plugs for a 1962 1147cc Triumph, watch you do not get plugs for a 1300
and don't quote the Amphicar engine number as Triumph parts books wrongly list
all engine numbers starting GK as 1300.

The plugs for the 1300 engine are slightly longer - problem is this results in
the spark being in the wrong place which can quickly result in a hole in the
top of the piston - non trivial !

PS. Whenever buying parts from Triumph specialists remember that all of the
Triumph engines in Amphicars were made in 1962 - regardless of the year the
Amphicar was registered.
