I have been to busy to go on the Internet, and having to compete with two
daughters for the computer my time is limited. But anyway here is a few tidbits
of info. We drove to Washington, DC on the 31st of March. We were able to get
in touch with Bilgey and we visited for an hour or so. He was able to get us
VIP passes to the National Holocaust Museum, which is where he works. This was
truly an interesting experience. We were unable to go for a ride on the Potomac
because of time restraints. Thank you Bill for the hospitality.
Last week were on vacation in the San Diego area. On Wednesday of that week
we drove up to Gordon Imports. I just had to go see what was all there. We had
a good visit with Hugh and his wife. Spent about an hour and a half there just
looking around and taking pictures. My kid counted at least 12 Amphicars
buried in the warehouse. Words cannot describe what is there.
Amphicar owner John Freise was there too, had a nice visit with him too.
On the way back to San Diego, we stopped by to see Amphipoda. We had a few
beers at his place then went out for more beer and some Pizza. What a great time
sitting around and talking about everything. Thanks to all of you for the
hospitality.
Other news. A few months ago someone posted a message about a red Amphicar
seen on the interstate on a trailer in Wisconsin. I am guessing but I believe it
was the Amphi once owned by Sally from Arizona. This car is now for sale at
Valenti Classics which is just south of Milwaukee. You can look at their web
site at
www.valenticlassics.com.
Asking price --- $42500.00 !!!
