How do I rebuild my brake wheel cylinders?

Fellow Amphicar owners: Some of my front and rear brake wheel
cylinders are leaking brake fluid; it is time for me to rebuild them
all in my 1967 Amphicar! I am thinking that I should have them bored
out and have brass/stainless liners put in, probably by someone like
Whitepost. The rest of the reassembly I can do myself; other than
Gordon Imports, are there other sources for the rubber seals? Also,
do
you know of another source for the brake shoe lining? Thanking you

Lots of Amphi owners, including myself, have had them
resleeved and rebuilt by the following shop. They
will resleeve them in stainless and return them ready
to go with proper rubber seals and new bleeders. Less
than a year ago it cost me $100 for both rear
cylinders. Turn-around time was also very quick.

Defintely resleeve them or else you will be rebuilding
them every two years.

Gord Souter (www.amphicar.ca) is the man to see about
brake shoe relining. He uses the same water-proof
material used in mil-spec Hummers. Again, if you
search the archives you will find lots of positive
feedback regarding these shoes.
