... on the brave souls who've stepped
forward to serve on the IAOC Board
during the next term? I, for one, am
a little saddened that we were pretty
much "appointed" rather than elected
due to the lack of volunteers. In any
event, we will endeavor to live up to
the high standards set by the current
IAOC administration, albeit one hard
act to follow. Enough said for now.

Remember to vote... it's Election Day!

Be well, swim safe.

I agree, it's a shame that more weren't willing to serve, but I think
that there are some great people on the new Board, and you all will
do a fine job. You've got my support, and I'm sure the support of
the entire club.
Good luck to the six of you as you make plans to get ready for 2005.
Marc Schlemmer.

Amphipoda,
Many thanks to yourself, JB, David, John, Steve, Gord and Gloria for stepping up
to the plate. I look forward to the news letters and zip right through them
typically the same day I receive it. I appreciate the holiday gift that the club
has so generously given in the past. I have yet to attend Celina but have heard
about the positive efforts the board members put forth for probably no reward
other than, quite possibly personal satisfaction.

I was asked by another club member to throw my hat in the ring. I did give it
some thought however, I wondered what was involved. I don't recall anyone really
"selling" the open seats. Perhaps more folks might have stepped up had it been
stated what it entails. For instance, how often do the board members convene?
By phone I assume. How much personal time has been spent monthly, bi-monthly or
annually by the different levels of the board members? Is it mandatory for board
members to attend Celina? How are differences resolved? If there are any.
Things like that I wondered about.

I assumed (I know, I shouldn't have) that being a board member would conflict
with my business travels or eat up much of my personal free time of which seems
to shrink by the month. Is it too late to fill the seventh chair? Does the club
want to "sell" the idea to someone who may have been on the fence?

I have spoken to all but two '05-'06 board members and will look forward to
speaking with and/or meeting David and Steve. This club ROCKS and I can't wait
to see what the new board members has in store for it's members. Many thanks to
the outgoing board members too. Bill, Dave, Mike, Doug, Marc and Rick. You guy's
did a great job! Oh, and Dave C, thanks for another term!

I will gladly do what I can. As a rule I don't join clubs of any
sort. Now here I am on the board! The previous board set the bar
very high and I only hope we can come close to their level.

I s'pose I will have The great Bilgy's shoes to fill. (where can I
get Bowling Alley shoe spray?) ;) With my personal time at a
premium, it will be tough at best. As many know, I am slow getting
things done sometimes so please keep that in mind.

All suggestions are welcome!
