Trailer Tie Downs

I made up some- bolt on- tie down bracket for the front of the Amphicar.
I welded a flat plate across the hole so straps are not rubbing on a sharp edge
You can either copy the pic or I can make them up for you at $50 a pair.
The swing arm does not have to come apart to fit on, just undo 3 bolts and install.

That's not a good idea. When the car oscillates on the trailer, there is every time a tug on the straps and fixings. On ebay someone sells similar laser cut brackets.

The best solution is to lash all four wheels on the trailer.

I strap fronts, and wrap rear tires.(since 1995)
In some enclosed trailers you cant get in to put strap web over tires.

Any reason that would not work on the rear, Gord? In enclosed trailers tire bonnets work great for the front tires with the open fenders, but are very difficult for the rear wheels. Not much fun laying under the car on the floor of the trailer trying to thread a connector strap over the lower shock mount either.

EDIT: Actually, thinking about it a bit more, probably wouldn't be that beneficial or easy to reach as the swing arm flange is forward of the rear wheel. I guess if were easy everyone would do it!
