It looks like we will be in Cadillac Michigan on Saturday August 24th. Is there
any Amphi owners out there who would like to join us? We can make it a mini
swim in. Chris's brother lives there and works for the TV station and has been
asking us to come up for quite a while. I think he's planning on doing a report
on the Amphicars.

I've only been there once but it's a smaller town and I believe the lake is
actually called Lake Mitchell. It's a nice spot, looks to be a decent size lake
with a nice canal and very very clean and clear water. There is a Days Inn
right on the lake which is where we are staying on Sat. night.

I'll follow up when I know more.

If anyone wants more info. on the Cadillac area, let me know. My in-laws
live in the Cadillac area and we go up there once a month.

There is also a nice State Park called Mitchell State Park, that has a
canal between Lake Mitchell and another equally big lake (forgot name).
Canal (1/4 mile) and tunnel under US-115 to this other lake would make a
nice amphicar waterway.

From Cadillac, Lake Michigan is also 50 miles away going west on M-55.
There is a nice protected harbor, perfect for amphicaring and salmon /
trout fishing, located in Manistee (where M-55 meets Lake Michigan).

I will be in Manistee trolling (pulling fishing spoons / lures) for king
salmon / steelhead trout behind the amphicar over the Labor Day weekend if
anyone is interested in joining me.

We caught a 12 lb. steelhead and 22 lb. king last time we went out in
mid-July. Very nice on the grille or in the smoker!

I live in the Chicagoland area and I have my summer home up here in northern
Mich and would love to attend. But its back to school for the kiddos and we
have to be home b4 the 24th. If it were held earlier in August it would be
a go for me.
