You asked for Triumph fuzzies - are you looking for Triumph parts or Amphicar
parts? Gary.

Hey Stitcher Guy,
I too am looking for a full set of fuzzies. When I saw your Triumph
post, I picked up my Victoria British catalog and spotted a potential
useable match. I don't have it in front of me but I think they only
had two choices. One was for years 62 to 70 and the other was for later
models. I also need a full set of splash rubbers and it looks like a
guy could make theirs fit but don't quote me on that.

I guess your question still stands. Does anyone know which year the
Triumph window fuzzies would fit the Amphicar?

Apart from the engine there are no Triumph parts that fit Amphicar. Buy the windows fuzzies from Hugh Gordon, they are effectively unique Amphicar, they are only common to some rare early Mercedes.

Spitfire door fuzzies work fine. Just cut them down. I got mine at
www.sportscarwarehouse.com, but I think Byron (at Sportscar) ordered
them from Moss Motors.

Spitfires use the generic British door weatherstrip (fuzzy). It is about half the thickness of the Amphicar original, this causes two problems, the door glass rattles at speed on the road and more importantly when boating they let lots of water past in to the bilge area - although they are better than nothing.

On the later Amphicars with the secondary rubber weatherstrip using the wrong size fuzzy is is less of a problem but it is of course always best to use the correct parts !

Not to argue..but the ones I purchased are about the same thickness, and
there is no window rattling. Perhaps a different supplier?

<font face="Arial" size="2">Dan, that's good news you have found something that works. The original ones are about 7mm compressed and the ones the Triumph (and MG) Suppliers in the UK sellare only about 3mm compressed. Thanks, Ken.

For those who haven't used the channels and fuzzies
from Metro Molded Parts, the number after the "-" in
their part number is the length of the component in
inches. So for a complete car it takes:

1ea WC5-96 [4ea @ 21" (rear)& 4ea @ 26" (door)]
1ea WC12-96 [2ea @ 36"]
2ea WC25-72 [2ea @ 34 (pillar) & 2ea @ 22(rear)]

Last time I ordered, the whole car was about $115.
including freight from Minnesota to Seattle.

so the fuzzies go on the inside?....and the rubber squeegee trim with the aluminum inset stripe goes on the outside?
Are the fuzzies still avail thru this vendor - and where can i get the outer ones that squeegee the glass when you roll it down?

Metro is still a good source, Jon. Save your existing clips, if still useable.

The exterior "wiper" & mount bar were only OEM on later cars, but GI has stock. They even show up periodically in the monthly sale mailer or the weekly email specials.
Good luck, --Larry

I found those rubber wiper things jammed the windows too much so I had to trim back some of the rubber to make the windows work right. They don't exactly do much of a job at wiping the glass but I almost never have the windows up anyway so it doesn't matter.

Bright sunny today, John, but only 36! My windows are safely (if not warmly) inside.
SB is looking and sounding better all of the time!

I saw window rubber splash trim on Gordons sale for this Friday - but who runs this site (with what looks to be cheaper pricing- on Gordons own numbers?- confused...) http://www.amphicar.net/minnow_old/Gordons/11-36_1.html

Amphicar.net is Bilgey's old site. It is active, but not maintained for several (at least 10?) years. As noted above, that page is an actual Gordon Imports listing, from back in the "good old" (at least cheaper) days!

I stock both window fuzzes and the U channels for glass to go up and down in.
Have it both here in Ont. and in Florida, where I'll be in Jan.
The price for the whole car(8 pc) is $100.00
and U channel is $100 too, to do all windows.
I have not changed this price in over 14 years.
