Which driveshafts to fit

Time for a driveshaft change, I have 2 sets, both new old stock, both same (as
new) condition and both have the external grease fitting on the UJ nearest the
transmission. One is the earlier type that most people use (and Hugh sells). The
other is the later type with larger UJs and a heavier duty spline with a metal
cover.

My thoughts are to fit the heavier duty pair on the basis that they might last
longer, my car has the larger driveshaft tunnels so clearance is not a problem.
Anyone think of a reason why I shouldn't ?

David:
I agree the larger ones will probably service you longer and the larger
tunnels will help. The only thing I can think of is to make sure your boots
are good. If for some reason you need to change them you'll have to be
careful in selecting the clamp to use at the hub end. When the wheel is in
certain positions the clamp just does clear the bottom of the arm where the
shock bolts down. As I recall the boot on this axle is longer than the
others. The clearance if very very small leaving little room for a thick
clamp not to mention the clamp head.
