O.K. so I work slower than most of you, but finally after two months, I have
my wanderer off the jacks. We took her out for a test drive today. I
replaced the two kinpin bushings and the big stubaxle bushing in the right
front assembly. The steering is much tighter now and she drives straight
and true up to about 55 mph. At 50-55 she begins to wander a little, but
not nearly as bad as before at 40mph. Next, I plan to instal the steering
box brace described in this months news letter. I notice that, with the
wheels on the ground, the steering box pivits about 1/2 an inch when turning
the steering wheel from side to side. Is that normal or excessive?
