Are your 3 rd, 4th and 5th numbers the 562 we all seem to have in those
positions? Is your vin # 105623702? In quite a few '66 through '67
cars the six digit number was covered with body putty and had to be wire
brushed to show because they used the 9 digit number for registration
purposes. Is your car a '67.
If you are saying that the nine digit number is nowhere on your car then
you might have to get a bit "creative". I suggest you talk to Hugh
Gordon - he mentioned something about doing a lien sale to clear this
kind of problem. I suppose buying a blank plate from Hugh and making
your own vin plate with nine digits is a possible course.
