Gibbs is still working on refining the performance of the new car. It has 3
abreast seating and currently it can do 35 mph on the water and 100 mph on
land!

Attached is a link for some more info:

Hope they succeed.

Hello Arthur,

It says in a CAI report that on 11-jan-02, Arthur Skuja reported:

I have news from Gibbs tech 5 min ago.

"We expect to launch the vehicle late 2002/early 2003, all being well.

I'm loading the pdf file now. ;-)

Interesting, it says

"working... to improve the hydrodynamic design of the water jet propulsion
system"

and

"the vehicle water jet design constraints will make this project exciting and
challenging"

That sounds to me like marketing speak for "it don't work !" I spoke to Rene
about this last year, he has done a lot of calculations about the power and
efficiency of water jet propulsion systems, it would need something very special
to drive such a heavy vehicle through the water at 35mph as shown in the
pictures. I hope they can make it happen ! They are based less than 50 miles
from here. I have tried to contact them a few times, even offered to call by
with Amphicar, but they don't want to talk !
