Just a reminder to dust off that checkbook and get your $10 Bar-B-Queue lunch reservation into Bill soon. Its less than two weeks away till we meet up with the Classic Car Club of America and the Wooden Boat Association here at Grapevine Lake (in the Dallas/Fort Worth metroplex). Grapevine, (a pit stop for the Great American Race a couple years ago) is also doing their "Main Street Days" that weekend, (Yes, that old bank on Main street was indeed robbed by Bonnie and Clyde...) so there will be plenty of other entertainment ... from bands & music to street vendors and arts & crafts, etc just up the street from the lake. Besides our getting together with the CCCA and WBA on Saturday May 21st, that Sunday there is the Brittish Car & Motorcycle Show being sponsored by The British Emporium at 140 Main St. in Grapevine. For those totally unfamiliar with the area, don't forget that Steam train leaves from Main Street station for a nice ride to the historic Ft Worth stockyards if certain family members need even more things to do on the weekend.
Make sure your $10 per person check for the catered B-B-Q lunch sent to:
CCCA/NTR
13109 Halwin Circle
Dallas, TX 75243
Mention that you are bringing your Amphicar so the parking spaces, boat slips, etc can be calculated ... and drop me a line for more info as needed. aboat2 at amphicar dot net
