Unbreakable props!

Would you be interested in new production UNBREAKABLE props that come with a REAL warranty? They are not metal, the are an industrial compound that not only will look like it should, more importantly it acts like it should as well. They will have enough deflection so your trans is safe, but not break in half or loose a blade.

Not just any warranty, but a tru lifetime, no questions asked, simply put you break it, I buy it back or replace it, warranty! I had some bad experiences before and so I decided I would not have that happen again. Now we have just finished the 2nd article and it looks awesome! When we get them done, I will dare anybody to do ANYTHING, I do mean ANYTHING they want to try and break one! You can spend all day battering it with a sledgehammer, drive over it with a semi, go swimming in a pool of rocks, whatever. You CAN NOT break them!

I don't have the price (aiming for the $100-ish range) just yet as we haven't calculated the damand just yet. That is one reason why I posting this. The more who express interest, the cheaper they will be. PLEASE contact anyway you like to let me know what you think.

I would have some interest in purchasing a pair of these, depending on the final price.

In 22 years I have not broken a prop, but I like to have spares around for
things that might just go, so Captain, I am interested.

John, Don't you have a GPS on your car?* Does it also connect to a sensor that works as a depth finder? *I know someone at Lake of the Ozarks had one and I was thinking it was you. I would like to get one but not sure if it is a Garman 300C or another model.

I wish I got some response like this when I made parts, I have given up on many Amphi parts because no one even replied

This response (which does not include the many private emails or the phone calls I've received) proves to me that I am not the only one thinking what I'm thinking or have had a similiar experience with this particular part. My own extremely dissapointing experiences have driven me to do this project as I did with the searchable maintenance manuals that are no longer available publically. I won't say much here because of the obvious reoccurring personal issues some have displayed.

I can't say why you didn't get the desired response, maybe it wasn't the right part at the right time? All people want is a quality part at a reasonable price.

I'm interested too and would buy 4 if I like the final product.

Ironically enough, the very prop I'm using for the mold was one I purchased from you several years ago! My new ones will be finished to look "PROPer" and will be up to the high standards we should expect. I will gladly accept returns if anyone doesn't like them (before being installed, of course). We may be able to offer some semi-custom colors too. It's all early yet to say about colors and specific prices. I want to produce a product everyone likes and can have full confidence in.

Keep the replies and comments coming! (even negative, haven't had any yet, but I'm open to ALL views)

P.S. My phone number below accepts texts too.

The Maintenance (Service) and Parts Manuals, as well as considerable other
technical information, are freely available to all members of the
International Amphicar Owners Club. Go to:

http://www.amphicar.com/memberslogin.html

log in, navigate to the Technical Library, and select your resource.

I think you will find the files easy to navigate, and, as a bonus, they are
of higher quality than the previously circulated files. Let me know if you
have any trouble finding anything in those documents. Also, feel free to
offer any suggestions for improvements or other resources.

Ed,

With all due respect, Please keep this on topic! If you want to enter into a civil, mature discussion about the topic of online manuals, please start a new thread in the appropriate location and I will gladly talk about it with you there. If you prefer, email me privately.

To clarify, the manuals on the club site are NOT searchable and do not come close to the quality I produced. As a Professional Technical Illustrator, Techical writer and webmaster of 15+ years, I can say that with absolute impunity.

Now, I return all of you to our regularly scheduled programming already in progress...

John,

At this time we are not in the market for props, however if/when we do break
a prop we would definitely be interested in a pair. Bottom line is we
wouldn't hesitate to purchase a pair when needed.

Thanks!

Larry,

At Lake of the Ozarks I had a Garmin 550 GPS along for the ride, which made running around at night a lot safer. It was just stuck to the inside of my windshield with it's suction cup.

Both my Amphicars have digital depth sounders installed. I custom make some parts to mount the depth sounder. The display mounts under the dash along side of the start button and the pickup is on the left, front bumper mount. I have an extra system available which includes a modified sounder, my custom display and pickup mounts and a drilled, stainless steel, front bumper mounting bolt that feeds the wire to the pickup. The whole package is $200 delivered.

Email me directly (jfriese(at)mindspring.com) if you'd like to see photos of the depth sounder installation. It looks pretty cool and works perfectly.

THANK YOU! to all who voiced thier opinion on the props here and privately!

It's this feedback that is so important in the process. As Gord mentioned, he didn't move forward on other parts because he got no response. That kept him from wasting time on un-needed parts and afforded him time to concentrate on those parts that are in more demand. So many thanks to all again and please continue to post your opinin here because that will help determine the production run.

Based on the HUGE response here and privately, I will move forward with R&D on this project. I can't say what or when (more testing to ensure they are what we say they are) the production run will be, but I will try to do enough of them so everybody who expressed interest will have an opportunity to purchase a set.

I can't wait to video some of the testing to show the durability of them. I have some pretty extreme ideas for this. Stay tuned! :dft003:
