Transmission fluid level

New Member
Maybe it is in the manual(s), but I could not find it.
What is the best way to check the transmission fluid level on the land side? Thanks

Hello Eric,

The best way is to get an extended dip stick from Rob Von Dracek and check the level from the engine compartment when you end the day out on the water. If water has gotten into the land tranny it will show up as bubbles on the stick and you can quickly drain the tranny and refill it before rust ruins it. For the initial check of both the land and water tranny I would suggest you buy the regular length dip stick that John Capone sells on Ebay. It will establish the proper levels for both trannys during maintenance sessions.
