Hi everyone. I'm a new owner of a fairly nice car (1967 Fjord
Green...did I spell that correctly?) with a couple of questions.
First, my top has the typical tears where the rip occurred after the
owner failed to unzip the two rear zippers. It's too bad because
the top was nearly new when it happened and is nearly perfect in
every way except for the two rips.
I heard there is someone out there who repairs this area and does a
great job. I believe I heard they might have been at Celina last
year. Does anyone know if this repair can be made, and if so, who
did it, and are those same repair people planning come to Celina in
2005?
My other question involves winter storage. I have a sealed car
cover with a desiccant pack that removes moisture. The manufacturer
states there cannot be any presence of moisture before zipping the
cover shut and recommends NOT washing the vehicle for at least one
day before storing. They say the presence of water (except for
sealed systems like a coolant system) will cause significant rust
problems while inside the sealed cover. I was too afraid of any
lingering moisture in any area that I didn't use the cover this year
for fear of causing severe rusting problems if any water was
standing. Has anyone out there used this type of cover for their
car?
Please post a reply or respond directly to my email (
Richard@RichardLeBlanc.com ). Thanks!
