The perfect project

I bought a 1900 mile green 67 Amphi. My thoughts were to make it for me
with some non original/ custom add ons. When I received it, it was much
nicer than anticipated. With near perfect body and original interior.
Car runs perfect with a like new trans. All original down to floor mat,
muffler, and little strings that had info tied to them. Margie made it
clear that she did not like the color combo and really is enjoying the
red 66. Iam getting brakes and some items operational. A quick paint job
and this pearl will be heading for Ebay. If you know of some one that
wants a true original car to restore while they drive and swim, let them
know. Later Dave the Wave. Viva Celina!

I can concur with Dave's assessment below, having personally examined this
Amphi at his request prior to his purchasing it. It's original right down
to the factory chalk marks on the rear passenger seat black fiberboard base:
A really promising low-fuss restoration project in the truest sense of the
word: Stone original. I'm not sure it's a '67 though. More likely it's an
later-intermediate model, like a '64 or '65, with some typically early model
features like the screw-type bilge plug and some later features like the
quarter panel bottom lip. It's a promising ride though, that's for sure.
The interior really was SUPRISINGLY nice when I saw it, and it probably
cleaned up real shiny. It has the original suppository-shaped
muffler...Hell, even the damned oil filter was an original. This Amphi's
neglect was checked well in time thanks to Dave, so with a little TLC this
could easily become what other marque aficionados might dub a "concourse"
example: an original's original.

In short, if anyone's out there sitting on the fence looking for a good one,
here it is. And what's the matter with Fjord Green with an Apricot interior
anyhow? After a while, it grows on you...Really.
