Ahoy Bilgemaster:

With the 14 German Amphicar Club members coming, is this confirmed?
To your knowledge at present, do or will they need anything from the
US Amphicar Club members before or during their visit.

Do you know if they are connected to our Yahoo Groups for
communications, questions or concerns before they make their trek.

We are attending the Celina Swim-In again and do have reservations at
the Holiday Inn Express.

Caryl and I will make every possible effort (as I'm sure all members
will) to assure they are comfortable and have a great time.

Please let us know if we are able to help in any way.

Best Regards,

Marty & Caryl Peters

That number is confirmed and their accomodations have been secured. Ten of
our teutonic travellers will be at the Comfort Inn, while the other four
will be at the Kozy Kampground (there's a thumbnailed map captioned "Celina
Landkarte" showing both locations on the German-language "Invitation" page
at http://www.amphicar.com/grosseflotte.htm).

As far as what we can do...Well, they've come a long way, so let's make them
feel ultra-welcome. Needless to say, anyone with even high school German
might want to dust off the old textbooks between now and then, but most of
these folks will speak decent English. Barring some last minute development
or a sponsor, they will not be bringing over any Amphis owing to the
prohibitive cost, so anyone with a free seat should adopt at least one of
our visitors to ride shotgun in all events and whatnot. Also, anyone in the
mood for an early-morning cruise four or five mile cruise might join me in
picking up the Kampground contingent in the morning by water (see the
previously mentioned map). That could be fun.

The group's organizer, Ren? Pohl is a List subscriber, and I have been and
will continue to work with him to see that all goes smoothly. They'll have
a couple of rental minivans, so no airport pickups will be necessary or
anything like that. No doubt I'll be providing more details and appeals for
assistance to the List as the date draws near.

With 15 of us from the EuroZone this year, one thought, if anyone wants to
bring along a spare Amphicar, or if one could be collected reasonably
locally for the weekend, then you could be sure it would be well looked
after !, Maybe even worked on by us Metric people during the Sunday morning
tech session !! I'm sure we could work out insurance and other legal stuff.

Cheeky to ask I know but that's what Europeans are like !

Yes, we are certainly coming! At least we already booked our flights to
Chicago for the 25th July, so we won?t miss Celina on the 27th. Thanks
everyone for the invitation, it will be a great time with you for sure!
See you in Celina,
Ren?
