You can read all about "fobs" at:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fob

There are watch fobs, computer fobs (dongles), and of course, key fobs:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Key_fob

You might be interested to know that I ordered those fobs from a Brazilian
company. It took almost two months to import them, and I was getting very
worried about not being able to get them distributed before Christmas. When
the USPS finally delivered them, they had been repackaged like a bag of
Halloween candy! (Somebody in Miami apparently grabbed a few in the
process!) Finally, many thanks to Ron & Valerie Green for the big job of
individually packaging and shipping the gifts!

As for that wooden nickel, that's actually a personal flotation device.

The annual Christmas gift was mailed this week, from Pennsylvania, to all
IAOC members. Please give the USPS a few days to get the deliveries done.
(Really bad weather in store for the Northeast today.) If you haven't
received yours in a couple of more business days, then email me directly.

Thanks for the Wikipedia site. I did check it out & found out that
key fobs are REALLY key chains. How interesting. And I thought that
Ron made it up.

What an interesting story about your ordering our gifts. Boy you must
have been going nuts waiting. I'll bet you were checking the street
every time you heard a car go by. What a shame you had to wait so
long for those fobs to arrive. And that wooden nickel, who would have
thought that it was a personal flotation device! I guess I can just
keep that in my glove compartment instead of a life jacket. It
certainly doesn't take up as much room. If needed do I have to spit
on it to inflate it? (Just kidding. I know that you just hold it in
your hand & jump into the water. It will inflate automatically. I'm
not stupid you know.)

Again, thanks for the great gift. Ina (in the Boro waiting for the
snow to fall)

Amphi Guru & Former IAOC President
Just a friendly request that I am sure many would agree with. Just like the presents under the tree, I prefer to be surprised when I open them. So in the future, can we not spoil the surprise for those who did not get thiers yet by waiting to post what it is until everybody has a chance to experience a little bit 'O Christmas surprise? Mine hasn't arrived, and it's not going to be a surprise for me or those west of The Mississippi river.

The annual X-mas gift was started by Marc Schlemmer (Thanks for that Marc!!!) and is the one thing about this club that I look forward to. Except for the one year when I made a polished aluminum bilge pump extention and showed it to Amphipoda, his reply was "Great, can you make 349 more?" :dft012: So after making 350 of them by hand, by myself (took me almost a month), the surprise was for me was gone, but the popularity of it and seeing them on the cars sure made it all worth while!

Ed,
Good job getting the gift all worked out. Dealing with South America can be a nightmare. I imported cigars from Ecuador and had a pain with customs all the time...

I really like that the keychain has 2 types (options) of rings, I removed the one with the little clip/latch that hooks on to things. I had to break it off (Easily) but now it is exactly what I use,
the standard ring.

Have a great Holiday Season Everyone!!!

Nice little stocking stuffers indeed. My hats' off to the IAOC for their
continuation of the annual gift.

Here's hoping we all get out of the den & swim more in 2010!

Be well, swim safe.

Paul,

Give it a few more days. The majority of the members have received it however for some reason a few haven't. A member 2 hours from my house where they were mailed from the post office on Dec 14th still didn't get it his. None have came back as undeliverable so hopefully you will receive it shortly. Such is balk mail. They have something like 20 days to deliver but typically go through in 5 days. Hopefully you received the newsletter which was mailed on Dec 16th.
