Tail/Marker Light Differences

Countdown Clock to Amphicar Forums Shutdown

I noticed that my headlight switch had the marker and headlight terminals jumpered together. I see that there was a change in tail light assemblies at some point in manufacturing. Apparently, the terminals on the light assemblies were changed to accommodate a single bulb. I hate to disturb anything that isn't leaking so I haven't looked. Every time I take something apart it turns into another major problem. Because the lights seemed to work okay since I've had the car, I was wondering if the switch jumper accomplished the same thing as modifying the tail light assemblies? I am changing the switch anyway since I have one with a white knob and plan to repeat the jumper unless it creates a problem with something else. Just wondering if this jumper was common practice? - AZP
